Rivera karting siblings win

03/12/2010

Karting upstart Milo Rivera, a Don Bosco freshman, won big in the just concluded second leg of the 2010 Pagcor Sports KF2-KF3 Cup at the Clark International Speedway, emerging as the first local karter in years to upset former champ Stefano Marcelo in the KF2 division.

Estefano Rivera, Rivera’s younger brother, also racing in his debut season brought his best game rallying from behind the pack to a third place finish in Race 4 of the KF3 class, bagging the Rookie Karter of the Year and emerging as the Asian Karting Yamaha Cup Juniors champion and the Formula SL Novice champion.

Clinching the runner-up finish in Race 3, Rivera showed the way in Race 4, controlling the tempo from start to finish before winding up the 11-lap race in 10 minutes and 51.55 seconds or 0.305 seconds ahead of Marcelo. Benjamin B. Pulta
