The game between the Philippine Patriots and the Brunei Barracudas in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) was cancelled after typhoon “Santi” battered the metropolis and Southern Luzon early yesterday

The game scheduled at 4 p.m. at The Arena, according to an ABL official, will be rescheduled later.

The Patriots were hoping to improve their 2-1 record in the home-and-away tournament when officials of both teams agreed to postpone the match — the second home game for the team co-owned by Harbour Centre owner Mikee Romero and businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco

Bannered by Ateneo star forward Nonoy Baclao, University of the East’s Elmer Espiritu and former La Salle star Jerwin Gaco, the Patriots tamed the Thailand Tigers, 74-61, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The RP Patriots cap their three-game series at home on Saturday against the Singapore Slingers — the team that inflicted them a stinging 74-69 defeat in Singapore two weeks back

The Patriots-Slingers showdown will be held at The Arena in San Juan City. Admission is free.

Meantime, the Slingers, led by Filipino import Al Vergara and former RP team import Michae LeBlanc, shoot for their fourth straight win today against Indonesia’s Satria Muda BritAma at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
