Scorching LeBron lifts Cavs to record 12th win
03/31/2009 CLEVELAND — LeBron James scored 24 points and passed off 12 assists Sunday, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a club-record 12th win in a row by rallying in the second half to rout Dallas 102-74. The Cavaliers improved their National Basketball Association-best record to 60-13 and improved to 35-1 at home this season as well as eclipsing a team record for consecutive triumphs that had been matched earlier this season. In other games, it was Atlanta over Los Angeles Lakers, 86-76; Minnesota over New Jersey, 108-99; Detroit over Philedelphia, 101-97; Toronto over Philadelphia, 134-129; Toronto over Chicago, 134-129, in overtime; Boston over Oklahoma City, 103-84; Indiana over Washington, 124-115; New Orleans over San Antonio, 90-86; and Sacramento over Phoenix, 126-118. "It's an incredible feeling," James said. "It's built on teamwork and trust. We won't change what we are doing. We go out and have fun but we are taking care of business while we are doing it." The Cavaliers moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers, 58-14, in the chase for the NBA's overall record and a home-court edge throughout the NBA playoffs. Cleveland's only home defeat came at the hands of the Lakers in what might have been a preview of June's NBA Finals. AFP Back to top
