Tipster gets P.7M for fingering NPA leader

An unnamed civilian from Pampanga has received a cash reward of about P700,000 whose information was partially responsible for the arrest of one of the province’s top rebel leaders, the Tarlac-based Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) of the military yesterday said. Maj. Gen. Ricardo David Jr., Nolcom commanding general, personally turned over on Thursday the cash reward to the informant whose timely “tips” to Army officers led to the arrest of Jose Jackson Camen, dubbed one of the top leaders of the Communist Party of the Philippines- New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) rebel group in Pampanga. At the time of his arrest last March 29, Camen was said to be the secretary of the CPP-NPA’s Sangay ng Partido Sa Platun-Pampanga. He faces several pending cases for murder, kidnapping, theft, forcible abduction, robbery, homicide and arson in Pampanga and Bataan. Ted Boehnert  Back to top
