Foton Motors Philippines presents its carrying brand, the Foton Blizzard, a pick-up truck that was designed first and foremost as a workhorse for the working man, businessmen and entrepreneurs. The Foton Blizzard’s 2.8 liter in-line 4-cylinder OHV diesel engine with direct injection will get your produce from point A to point B with no hassle. With a maximum torque of 202nm@2300rpm, this 5-speed manual transmission vehicle is capable of pulling any kind of load, though is not capable of running too fast. Considering its speed, travel time is consequently longer. This, however, is compensated by a quick to cool air-conditioning system and an entertaining CD MP3 in-dash sound system. The Foton Blizzard has a manual hub that when switched to lock mode and 4-wheel drive is engaged in the transfer case, it is now capable to go off-road and back to on-road with ease. The rugged truck-like feel makes the Foton Blizzard tackle any road surface with its ladder type frame bolted onto the underchassis — front double wishbone suspension, telescopic spring suspension with telescopic shocks and stabilizer bars; and rear leaf spring suspension with telescopic shocks. The turning radius is limited and does not enable the vehicle to make tight u-turns. To execute a u-turn, the driver will need to give allowance before the approach to avoid unnecessary backing up and maneuvering. The Foton Blizzard has a mechanical circular ball type steering gear with tilting power assist. It has front disc brakes and rear drum brakes that match the speeds that the engine can deliver. Its exterior workhorse look is completed by 225/75R15 tires with alloy wheels, step boards, side mirror turning lights, front grille (that looks like its smiling), and front and rear bumper with fog lights. The rear parking sensor is a useful tool for the driver when backing up especially considering the size of the Foton Blizzard with its length of 5160mm, width of 1750mm and height of 1730mm. The interior cabin can seat a total of 5 passengers, including the driver. The interior features a power package standard (power locks, windows, etc.), indiglo instrument panel lighting, wood steering wheel, wooden shift knob and leather like seats. The Foton Blizzard’s no-nonsense, no fancy frill, and workhorse quality is reflected by its exterior and interior design, its engine and its features — it is a working man’s tool as long as it gets the job done.
