4th ‘Himig Bulilit’ chorale competition
10/23/2009 The Foundation on Arts, Culture and Education of Parañaque Inc. (Facepi) announces the opening of the 4th Himig Bulilit Choral Competition among elementary schools in the public and private sector in Parañaque. The city-wide competition is aimed at enhancing the choral skills among school children in Parañaque, and promotes cultural awareness, brotherhood and camaraderie among residents, students and schools as well. This year’s theme entitled “Pangangalaga sa Kalayaan,” is aimed at increasing the level of nationalism of the children and teach them to love and preserve our hard-earned freedom and democracy. Interested schools may visit or call the Facepi office at Buensuceso Learning Center, 3760 Mabini St., Don Galo, Parañaque City, tel nos. 853-3993, fax no. 826-6174 or through email addresses: meannsantoslts@yahoo.com / facepi888@yahoo.com to request for an entry form. Deadline of submission of entries is on Nov. 9, 2009. A generous package of cash prizes and trophies await the winning chorales and their schools. The grand champion will receive P30,000 while the school will receive P20,000 plus a trophy; the first runner-up will receive P18,000 and the school will get P12,000 plus a trophy; the 2nd runner-up will receive P12,000 and their school will receive P8,000 and a trophy. The criteria for judging are as follows; 1) Quality of voice – 30 percent; 2) Musicality – 30 percent; 3) Technique – 30 percent, and 4) Audience impact – 10 percent. These criteria for judging will also be applied in the final stage of the competition. This choral competition is in consonance with the National Commission on Culture and the Arts and is also being supported by the city government of Parañaque led by Mayor Florencio “Jun” Bernabe.
