Solon’s house in exclusive subdivision ransacked

Even the secured house of a lawmaker was not spared by robbers as a few hours before the attempted robbery at a Rolex Watch Store in Greenbelt 5 mall in Makati City, the residence of House Deputy Majority Leader and Mandaluyong City Rep. Neptali Gonzales II inside an exclusive subdivision was ransacked.

Located inside the Wack-Wack Subdivision, Gonzales said he was caught by surprise by the robbery since it was done right inside a secured subdivision with security guards roving around.

Gonzales added even he has his own set of security guards.

Initial investigation showed the incident took place early morning Tuesday while the Gonzaleses were asleep.

The robbers allegedly scaled the fence and successfully gained entry to the master bedroom.

It was there that the robbers took the Gonzaleses cash and jewelry estimated at P2 million stashed inside a vault.

Gonzales said they only discovered the robbery in the morning.

“Pagpasok ko, nakakalat yung damit at jewelry box nya, di ko napansin masyado, akala ko nag-aayos (ang asawa ko),” the congressman said.

“Nandito na ito. Nakaganyan lahat. Yung jewelry box ganyan itsura, wala na yung drawers, ganyan ko nakita,” his wife Queenie said.

Even the couple’s engagement ring was carted away by the robbers.

Nevertheless, Gonzales was thankful nobody got hurt.

“Kung wala silang nakuha then, I hate to imagine kung ano ang posibilidad, gigisingin kami, nagpapasalamat kami, buhay kami, di kami nasaktan,” he said.

But his wife was a bit traumatic about the incident.

“Ang di mo mababayaran yung security namin na alam mong napasok na, supposed to be safest place na itong bahay mo,” she said.

Investigators said they would look at all angles, including the possible questioning of the construction workers just near the congressman’s house.

This is not the first time a robbery was staged inside an exclusive subdivision.

Mandaluyong Councilor Darius Razon also fell victim as he and his family were even hogtied.
