Maryo de los Reyes lends gift anew to Sine Novela

Internationally acclaimed director Maryo J. de los Reyes is set to make afternoons more captivating as he returns to the afternoon block this February with Sine Novela presents Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak. This is the fourth Sine Novela that the director will handle in GMA 7’s Dramarama sa Hapon. The award-winning director was in charge of the top-rating Sine Novela offerings Magdusa Ka, Saan Darating ang Umaga and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?

Direk Maryo’s first Sine Novela was the top-rating Magdusa Ka starring Dennis Trillo, Iwa Moto and Katrina Halili. Said afternoon series gained international recognition when it was nominated in last year’s International Emmy Awards.

After Magdusa Ka, he agreed to remake his own blockbuster movie Saan Darating ang Umaga, which garnered high ratings during its 16-week run. It featured Lani Mercado, Joel Torre and Yasmien Kurdi.

Last year, the multi-awarded director returned to the afternoon block via Sine Novela presents Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, the only afternoon program that garnered a record-breaking overnight rating 32.4 percent.  Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin also gave birth to Royal Teen Couple Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal.

Expect another touching real life drama as filmmaker and TV director Maryo de los Reyes imparts his gift via Sine Novela presents Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak beginning Feb. 8 on GMA 7.
