Have a roaring start to the Tiger year

Marking the arrival of spring, Chinese New Year is one of the most anticipated celebrations of the Chinese lunar calendar. With mouthwatering reunion feasts and colorful festivities steeped in centuries-old tradition, it is a time for family togetherness and a celebration of prosperity and good fortune to come. This February, usher in Chinese New Year with Discovery Travel & Living’s Chinese New Year Special, with a selection of episodes from popular programs Globe Trekker and Fun Taiwan, at 11 p.m. from Feb. 8 to 12.

Fun Taiwan host Janet Hsieh takes viewers through the joyous festivities surrounding the Chinese New Year celebrations in her home country Taiwan. Join Megan McCormick, Justine Shapiro and Zay Harding from Globe Trekker as they trek through China, immersing themselves in the history, culture and cuisine of one of the planet’s most populous country. Also, experience the headiness of Chinese New Year celebrations with the Chinese diaspora as they seek to preserve their cultural heritage and traditions in the places they now call home, on four episodes of Globe Trekker.
