Celebrate Chinese New Year at The Shang

Premier lifestyle destination Shangri-La Plaza ushers in the Chinese New Year with a lineup of activities organized by the Ateneo de Manila University’s Confucius Institute and Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies.

The Ateneo de Manila Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies, which aims to promote understanding and appreciation of the Chinese Culture, is holding the Chinese Spring Film Festival from Feb. 3 to 9 at Shang Cineplex Cinema 3 in partnership with Ateneo Celadon. The film festival pays tribute to the following critically acclaimed films: In Love We Trust by Wang Xiaoshuai, Cape No 7 by Wei Te Shen, The World by Jia Zhangke and Seventeen Years by Zhang Yuan.

Visit the Chinese Painting Exhibit until Feb. 11 at the Grand Atrium, Level 2 and appreciate the rich history and heritage of Chinese masterpieces from the works of the Ateneo Confucius Institute Chinese Painting students and the Chan Lim family.

As part of the celebrations, a Chinese Painting Demonstration was held last Feb. 7, at the Grand Atrium, Level 2. The demonstration was facilitated by Drs. Alex and Felix Chan Lim.

A Chinese Painting Workshop Sessions took place on the same day at the Grand Atrium, Level 2, organized and facilitated by the Chan Lim family and the Ateneo Confucius Institute Chinese Painting students.
