Buzzstation asked Manila Standard Today entertainment editor Isah Red a test-me question in connection with his launch as one of the four hosts of the online buzz-fest myFoursome on PLDT Watchpad, held at Jill’s at The Fort Strip. We asked: What’s your biggest showbiz scoop? But he turned down the question for an update, quickly adding, “There’s so many all the time!” Multiply this kind of broadsheet buzzing times four and you get MyFoursome on PLDT Watchpad. Isah is joined by The Philippine Star’s Ricky Lo, The Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Dolly Ann Carvajal and Manila Bulletin’s Shirley Pizarro. Entertainment journalism’s blue bloods, right? Ricky and Isah are entertainment editors. Ricky is known for his exclusive interviews of Pinoy and Hollywood stars. He is also one of the hosts of TV’s Startalk. Shirley used to be a managing editor until she decided to go into publicity work. She still writes an entertainment column for the same paper. Dolly Ann is the daughter of legendary showbiz pillar Lourdes “Inday Badiday” Carvajal. She is also the mom of showbiz host IC Mendoza and the niece of PDI editor-in-chief Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc. MyFoursome is a 30-minute showbiz-oriented talk show available exclusively on myView on PLDT myDSL Watchpad. It delivers the hottest and latest showbiz news and buzzes to PLDT MyDSL subscribers. Other fresh not-for-youth-only shows are hosted by GMA Artist Center talents like Rhian Ramos, Isabel Oli, Victor Aliwalas, Stephanie Henares, Steff Prescott and Gino de la Peña. Isabel hosts myStyle, which will dish out fashion tips and updates. Jay Durias and Amber Davis will feature music videos. Log on to www.pldtwatchpad.com and get your free user name and password. Roselle is back... and leaving The upcoming wedding of singer and Viva artist Roselle Nava on Jan. 17, 2010, excites her no end. During the launch of her newest CD entitled Forever Love Songs, she shared with Buzzstation how happy she is that she finally found the right man. He is the good-looking and caring Allen Tan, the youngest of two brothers who are her business partners in Music Corner by Roselle. When Allen proposed and she accepted, he slipped a diamond ring on her ring finger, which Roselle wore at the meeting. For their Manila Cathedral wedding budgeted at P1.5 million, green and purple are the color motif. Former Ang TV talents Jolina Magdangal, Rica Peralejo and Lindsay Custodio will join her entourage. Reception will be held at the Palacio de Manila along Roxas Boulevard. The newlyweds plan to have their honeymoon in Macau and Hong Kong. They might choose to seek permanent residence eventually in the US, where Alex’s parents are based. When Roselle decided to leave ABS-CBN, she went on creating a niche for herself by doing shows here and abroad such as Japan, Canada and the US. She made a mark singing Filipino songs such as the mega hit “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Na Mahal Kita,” which was adapted by Star Cinema into a full-length feature starring by Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan. Viva Records offered to produce a new CD and invited her to join Viva Artist Agency, which she gladly accepted. A perfectionist, it took several months to plan and record her new album with producer Siv Fontanilla. Forever Love Songs is worth the wait. Roselle does an all-English album for a change. Her 12-track CD is a collection of revivals of all-time favorite songs. Carrier single is “Lost In Space.” Other songs are “No More Rhyme,” “I Love You All The Way,” “Heaven Knows,” “Fixing A Broken Heart,” “What’s Forever For,” “What Might Have Been,” “Miss You Like Crazy,” “Looking Through Your Eyes,” “As I Lay Me Down,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” “Looking Through the Eyes of Love” and “What I Did For Love.” Kris plays Sharon’s best friend in Mano Po 6 Kris Aquino fulfilled her promise to producer Lily Monteverde and daughter Roselle Monteverde-Teo to do a supporting role in Regal Films’ grand production of Mano Po 6: My Mother, the outfit’s official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Despite her tight schedule, Kris agreed to play the best friend of Megastar Sharon Cuneta in the film, lending stellar appeal to the powerhouse cast that also includes Christopher de Leon, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Heart Evangelista, Dennis Trillo and Ciara Sotto. Kris admits she didn’t think twice after Roselle called her up to offer her a guest role in Mano Po 6, directed by Joel Lamangan. She also waived her talent fee for the movie. “Mother Lily has been very good to our family,” Kris asserts. “We owe her a lot. Doing this movie is only a little favor compared to what she has done for me and my family. It’s the only way I can give a meaningful gift to Mother Lily, a gift of my time and presence.” Although she allotted only four shooting days for Mano Po 6, Kris is doing several scenes with Sharon — in a Chinese restaurant, in jail, in a hospital, at the cemetery and inside a car. “I didn’t have any demands for my role,” Kris says. “I didn’t ask to be given any dramatic highlights or big exposure in the movie. Talagang guest role lang ako.” A self-confessed Sharonian, Kris disclosed she is really excited to work with the Megastar for the first time. “I’m happy to be given a chance to play Sharon’s best friend,” Kris declares. “I’m also very thankful to Sharon and her hubby, Kiko Pangilinan, for the support they gave to my brother Noynoy.” Kris starred in the first Mano Po film shown in the 2002 MMFF, where she clinched best supporting actress trophies from different award-giving bodies. She even went to Beijing with co-stars Maricel Soriano and Ara Mina to shoot scenes for the movie, also directed by Joel Lamangan. ‘Nakulam ako!’ claims Rosanna “Nausog ako!” explains Rosanna Roces about the stomach trouble she suffered during the shoot of the ending scene of Wanted: Border shot in Iloilo in yesterday’s launching of 2009 Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival to be held in Gateway Mall Cinema from Nov. 13 to 17. Rosanna graced the event with Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee. Believed to have been caused by food poisoning, Rosanna insists it was caused by witchcraft. She continues, “Hindi kasi ako nagpa-picture. ‘Yung kasama namin sa set, gustong magpa-picture ako. Tumanggi ako dahil nanonood ako noon ng boxing. Pinasakit ‘yung tiyan ko kaya sa nakunang ending, hindi nasunod ‘yung gusto namin. Hindi sinasadya. Tao lang, nakukulam! Noong kukunan ang ending. ‘Yung last scene! Pinag-pray over ako sa phone ng kaibigan kong Christian kaya natanggal.” The other official entries to the annual film fest sponspored by Cinema One cable channel, spearheaded by managing director Ronald Arguelles, are Paano Ko Sasabihin with Erich and Enchong, Maximus & Minimus by Cai Cortez and Baron Geisler, Bala Bala by Richard Quan and Micha Muñoz, and Si Baning, Si Maymay at ang Asong si Bobo with Rio Locsin and Geraldine Tan. Breaking Buzz: Rosanna also announced that she’s about to marry her 40-year-old lawyer/lover whom she identified only with his initials “R.B.” from Malolos, Bulacan. Rosanna swears the tall, dark, handsome guy is single. They met in a basketball game, and she fell in love with him on their second meeting. She’s set to marry him once her marriage to Tito Molina is annulled, she says, sometime before her May 2010 birthday. She wants to have a child out of love this time around.
