Postman plays Cupid with chocolates, flowers and Valentine’s Day stamps

02/12/2009

Romance is in the mail. The Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost) will play Cupid as well as issue stamps to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Mail carriers of the PhilPost will give chocolate and flowers to recipients of the Valentine’s Day cards and letters they deliver. With special limited edition of Valentine’s Day stamps, Filipinos will definitely relate with their love ones through love letters.

“Despite our modern technology such as the use of text messaging, it is still different when love is expressed through the sending of flowers, chocolates and Valentine’s cards,” Postmaster General Hector R.R. Villanueva said.

Gift items are sold at the main lobby of the Post Office Building in Manila to be delivered by the postman if the customer beats the prescribed cut-off delivery time.
