Nothing beats location as a primary consideration for buying a condominium unit. And that is why the St. Francis Shangri-La Place is definitely a must-see for anyone who is looking for a space at the center of the bustling metropolis.

Right off the bat, the newest landmark in the Ortigas area is already the tallest residential condominim project in the Philippines with its twin towers reaching 60 stories high.

Looking at it during the recent topping off ceremony, St. Francis Shangri-La Place is practically a condominium re-invented. This might have something to do with the fact that is it is under world-class real estate and hotel developer, The Kuok Group.

Just by the name itself, one can surely look forward to hotel-like amenities that blend in with the fact that this architectural wonder sits beside the Shangri-La Edsa Plaza Mall and the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, the first of which assures an upscale shopping center with a wide range of choices, entertainment venues and dining options.

Looking beyond the property’s attractive and contemporary design, next in store are its top-of-the-line amenities. There’s the state-of-the-art clubhouse and gym, multi-purpose function rooms, aerobics room, adult’s game room, steam baths, sauna, children’s playroom, swimming pool and a separate kiddie pool. Wi-Fi facilities and concierge services are also available round-the-clock.

The property also boasts of a three-level Grand Penthouse, which has four bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a master bedroom with its own walk-in closet and Jacuzzi. These luxury units are 510 to 650 sqm in floor area, with private infinity pools, roof decks, glass enclosed sky lounges and sky gardens.

The other units are not lacking in luxury even if a floor or more down. Through large picture windows, the view of the metropolis is simply to die for and puts a detached view to the surrounding Ortigas business district. Spacious interiors, high ceilings and individual balconies lend a cosmopolitan feel and definitely adds to the value of each unit.

Lawyer Andy Bautista, president of Shang Properties Inc., the property development arm of the Kuok Group in the Philippines, said that although the St. Francis Shangri-La Place is to be completed in 2009, more than 800 units are already spoken for, sold since the launch in November 2005.

So the official topping off celebration was definitely timely. Among the guests were Shang Properties executives Vince Formoso, Eden Lin, Kinsun Ng, Bobong Noel, Francis Fuellas, Lala Fojas and Susan Yu, who all joined in the ceremonial toast, partaking of the sumptuous merienda prepared by Edsa Shangri-La while listening to a captivating string quartet performance.

The St. Francis Shangri-La Place is located at Edsa cor. Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
