05/13/2008 Saranggola Festival in Angono Now on its fourth year, the Saranggola Festival in Angono is a summer activity of Insurance Manila magazine, the only monthly publication on the insurance and pre-need industry. On May 17, kites of all shapes, colors and sizes will fill the air in Wawa Lake Park in Angono, known as the Art Capital of the Philippines and home to National Artists Lucio San Pedro and Botong Francisco. Professional kite flyers from Pasig, Pateros, Quezon City, Taguig, Antipolo and nearby Rizal towns of Binangonan, Cardona and Morong, and Angono are expected to join. A kite making workshop opens the event in which children will make their own boka-boka for a competition. The “ceremonial” kite will be flown by no less than the mayor of Angono, Aurora Villamayor.
