SMEs take part in trade exhibit
06/14/2009 Small and medium entrepreneurs from several regions in the country are taking part in a trade fair and exhibit ongoing at the Greenhills Shopping Complex in San Juan, Metro Manila. Henry Babiera, a top art and antique dealer in Southeast Asia, said small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines account to more than 60 percent of the entire labor force and fuel most of the economic activities. He added SMEs represent “real economic might” and should therefore be given the importance and support they lack in the countty. The 10-point pro-poor of the government would benefit the SMEs, he said. The 16th Telecommunication and Accessories Bazaar being held back to back with the 5th Philippine Crafts is ongoing until July 7. Prime Asia Trade Planners Convention Organizers is the organizers of the trade fair. Babiera encourages people to engage in SMEs instead at employment. For a start, he said they could join trade fairs just like the small and medium entrepreneurs and traders from Mindanao ho have found an outlet for their products and goods in Metro Manila. They join trade fairs and become their good source of their livelihood. Back to top
