MMLDC partners with ASM-Manila, ISNTC for ‘SAIL’ program
02/22/2009 The Meralco Development Center (MMLDC) is known to be a sought after venue this side of Antipolo City, where various companies, groups and organizations hold their seminars, planning, team-building workshops and meetings. Its world-class facilities and customer service create a total learning ambiance. But more than that, MMLDC is also engaged in providing the most effective and efficient learning solutions to its partners and clients. One of these is the Associated Ship Management Services (ASM-Manila) together with its training center Intership Training Navigation Inc., which is involved in training technical shipping skills and deploying highly qualified Filipino seafarers. To support this, MMLDC and ASM recently forged a partnership agreement. Under this deal, MMLDC will conduct three batches of leadership development program designed for Junior and Senior Officers of ASM-Manila. Aptly called “Sharpening Aptitudes In Leadership or SAIL,” the program will enhance their leadership potentials specifically in their people handling skills. The SAIL Leadership Program is about enhancing the Filipino seafarer’s leadership skills in the aspects of communication, motivation, coaching, and discipline. It also teaches them modern and tested practical techniques on how to handle people concerns which are adapted to “life and work” at sea. “MMLDC will consistently be at its best in delivering quality learning solutions to continuously delight our participants. We will ensure that the officers can become more effective leaders once they can get back to their respective assignments in the ship,” Vivien Arnobit, MMLDC Director for Academic Services, said.
