‘Batang May Tibay’ workshop helps parents build kids’ confidence

02/08/2009

Bonakid Pre-School recently concluded its nationwide “Batang May Tibay Workshop Series.” Conducted in several pre-schools in Laguna, Pampanga, Bulacan, Baguio and Manila, workshop series aimed to educate parents on how to effectively build their children’s confidence.

“We believe that a healthy self-esteem is one of the most important things a child must develop to succeed in life, and is the parents’ responsibility to make sure their kids grow up to be confident individuals,” Aubrey Allarde, product manager for Bonakid Pre-School, said.

“With these workshops, we are helping parents do just that.”

To help facilitate the workshops, Bonakid Pre-School recruited the Center for Personality Development and Professional Skills to deliver specially designed confidence-building lectures. Focusing on what the brand refers to as the three pillars of learning — health, love and learning — the lectures explained to parents the crucial role of self-confidence in a child’s development. The lectures also covered numerous tips on how to strengthen a child’s self-esteem, such as praising positive behavior and avoiding the tendency to be overprotective.

Parents who attended the workshop series gave mostly positive feedback. Many praised the initiative as a very effective way of empowering parents in their quest to help their children become confident individuals.

The Batang May Tibay Workshop Series is part of Bonakid Pre-School’s Ready for the World Advocacy Program, a campaign which aims to equip Filipino pre-school children with the confidence they need to face life’s challenges.
