Sennheiser stars in US Music Awards

Sennheiser artists were in the spotlight during the live telecast of the 35th Annual American Music Awards when Beyoncé, Rihanna and Fergie all received honors in major categories. Sennheiser wireless handheld vocal microphones were at the forefront throughout the evening, from Fergie’s show-opening medley to Beyoncé’s much anticipated guest performance with Sugarland, along with a variety of the evening’s top performers, including Rihanna, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Avril Lavigne and the Jonas Brothers.

At the 35th Annual American Music Awards, Fergie picked up the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist along with performing several of her hit songs using the hybrid Sennheiser SKM 5200 wireless handheld microphone with Neumann KK 105 S capsule.

Beyoncé regularly uses a Sennheiser SKM 5200 wireless mic with the new Sennheiser MD 5235 capsule, and made her highly-anticipated guest appearance on the show, joining Sugarland on the dynamic country duo’s bluegrass version of her top-selling worldwide hit, “Irreplaceable.” Beyoncé was awarded with the prestigious International Artists Award, becoming only the sixth recipient and the first female artist to be honored.

Sennheiser’s newest endorser, Rihanna, was selected as the Favorite Female Soul/R&B Artist.

Avril Lavigne wielded her custom-painted, hot pink Sennheiser SKM 935 G2 handheld wireless mic on a rendition of “Hot,” the latest single from her “The Best Damn Thing” album. The Canadian singer has favored the Sennheiser wireless vocal mic since her very first tour.

A screaming horde of teenage fans ran down the aisles to the front of the stage as the Jonas Brothers arrived onstage to play their big hit, “SOS.” Kevin, Joe and Nick all used Sennheiser SKM 5200s for the performance.
