GE, Ayala Land celebrate Earth Day together
05/18/2008 There couldn’t have been a more opportune time to launch a tie-up to promote “green” buildings and houses in the country than during the celebration of Earth Day last April 22. So it was that GE (General Electric) and Ayala Land Inc. joined forces to formally introduce their collaboration to promote GE’s ecomagination products, technologies and services in Ayala Land’s latest land development project, Nuvali, in Laguna. At the helm of this auspicious occasion were Colin Low, GE president for Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia and Jaime Ayala, president and chief executive officer of Ayala Land. Together with executives from their respective companies, Low and Ayala presided over cocktails held at the Ayala Museum to present this notable project to prospective clients, locators, homeowners and other key customers. Event host was Daphe Osena-Paez. It was an evening of ‘green possibilities’ as GE highlighted in their exhibit various energy-efficient, less emissive products that will be featured in Nuvali’s iconic “Evoliving Center” and green model homes. Aside from GE lighting and appliances, the Evoliving Center will also showcase the GE Merlin reverse osmosis unit, the GE EcoDashboard, GE Water MBR technology and the GE Brilliance Solar System for harnessing energy from the sun, among others. “Green is happening everywhere in GE and we are proud to work with Ayala Land for the benefit, not only of our businesses and our customers, but most importantly, of our environment,” Low said. Ayala Land shares this vision. “Nuvali will combine the latest in green building technology with sustainable urban planning, architecture and construction practices,” Ayala said. “This partnership with GE is a concrete first step in the realization of our vision for Evoliving in Nuvali.” Shown in photo (from left) Ayala, Oseña-Paez and Low.
