Sunnex, chef impress 2 of country’s biggest food expos

10/14/2007

Sunnex, the most trusted brand in Filipino cookware, together with celebrity chef, Tristan Encarnacion of GMA’s morning news show, Unang Hirit, show that skill and cooking with the right equipment is the best recipe for success.

Participating in the country’s two biggest food expos: the World Food Expo 2007 (Wofex) and the Asia Food Expo (Afex) recently, both held at the World Trade Center, Chef Tristan’s cooking demonstrations drew a large number of crowds with his mouth-watering recipes. Using the Sunnex Tristan Chef’s Collection, participants and visitors were treated to a very lively cooking and information-filled demonstration from the young sizzling chef.

Whipping together two familiar but still mouth-watering dishes, Chef Tristan demonstrated his kitchen moves and shared his cooking secrets to the audience. For this demonstration, he took a more Oriental approach and prepared the Citrus Chicken Stir-Fry; filleted chicken breasts that have been cut to strips. It combines orange juice and zest, sesame oil, dry sherry, mushrooms, ginger, minced garlic, sliced garlic, sliced green and red bell peppers, snow peas, cashew nuts and chili flakes for taste.

Chef Tristan paired it Sesame Soy Fried Rice, for his second recipe. The recipe makes use of six cups of cooked rice with chopped onions, minced garlic, sliced Chinese chorizo for flavor, oyster sauce and sesame oil, with salt and pepper to taste. During it all, the audience was transfixed by the young chef’s skill with the pan.

Not to be outdone, Sunnex was awarded as the best booth in Wofex for bringing in their complete product line-up. “We wanted to really highlight the products and show our guests and prospective clients what Sunnex can offer their business or their kitchens at home,” Lileth Yang, brand manager of Sunnex for the LJS Group of Companies, said. And what better way to put them on view than by constructing a mini-showroom where clients can really look and study their cooking needs.

Both World Food Expo 2007 and the Asia Food Expo brought together all segments of the food and beverage industry -- from budding food entrepreneurs, caterers, and restaurateurs, to cooking enthusiasts and well-known chefs and hotel and restaurant managers.
