All that bias — for the hacienda

Expect the Noynoy yellow propaganda network not only to repeat its demonizing feat during the impeachment of Erap Estrada in 2000 and early 2001 leading up to his unconstitutional ouster, but even surpass its dirty trial and conviction by publicity ways, with the trial of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Five members of the prosecution panel, acting as private prosecutors for the trial are all high officials of the Lopez-owned ABS-CBN network.

The five private prosecutors are Maximilian Uy — chief legal counsel, assistant corporate secretary; Mario Bautista — general counsel, legal services; Manuel Torres — corporate secretary; Maximilian Joseph Uy — legal services and assistant corporate secretary; and Enrique Quiason — assistant corporate secretary.

One thing sure, the coverage by this giant network can hardly be expected to be credible, as it has already shown its bias long before the actual trial starts and the same network is identified as a true yellow media ally of Noynoy — to the point of even manufacturing a psychological report that it also quickly passed on as a fake, to preempt a genuine but negative psychological report on Noynoy done when he was a student since that genuine study would have ruined Noynoy and the Liberals’ chances in the presidential elections.

But that is the network’s lookout, especially since credibility plays a large part in media. Besides, ABS-CBN and its cable news channel, ANC, may just end up with no credibility at all, if the network continues to be biased against the accused and so pro-Noynoy.

What is being forgotten by Noynoy and the prosecutors, private and House members, is that Corona is not the President of the Republic and does not elicit great hate or great dislike from the Filipinos as a whole, even if Noynoy, his aides and allies keep on claiming that the people are behind them in impeaching Corona.

The truth is, it is only the yellows, including the yellow survey firms, that are behind Noynoy, and even these yellows are now being ignored by the Filipino people.

Even if they threaten yet another “people power,” this won’t work, not only because there won’t be public support, but also because there are also other groups — such as the lawyers group, that may do a Pakistan style demonstration when Musharraf ousted the Chief Justice of the Pakistan High Court — that is if the impeachment trial would be a farce.

The fact that the comments section in Noynoy’s Facebook account was quickly closed, can only mean that the comments were pretty negative, as even the news Web sites’ comments section already show the preponderance of negative remarks aimed at the Palace occupant.

What rings more true is that Noynoy wanted Corona impeached, not because of his claimed reforms in the judiciary but because he wants the high court ruling against Hacienda Luisita, owned by the Cojuangco-Aquino clan, reversed. This was what made Noynoy ballistic, especially after a Tribune report was published prior to the impeachment of Corona of the clan meeting where the Cojuangco elders berated Noynoy for allowing them to lose the Hacienda, now that he is president.

Noynoy is using the House, his allies and the Yellows to impeach Corona and get a number of other SC justices to resign, and all because he wants a reversal of the hacienda ruling.

And this is what these stupid yellows are fighting for — the personal interest of Noynoy and his relatives.

The facts will show that Noynoy had already accepted that Corona was the legitimate CJ sometime ago. He had kept silent about all other issues raised in the impeachment complaint. Noynoy found the excuse to excoriate the CJ after the TRO issued by the SC against De Lima’s hold order list allowing Gloria Arroyo to travel, even when Noynoy and his De Lima had already successfully thwarted the TRO. But that was just an excuse, since the real issue was the Hacienda Luisita adverse ruling.

And this, and only this, is the reason he bribed the 188 congressmen to impeach the Chief Justice.

And that is what he and his yellows call the straight path — straight path to destroy the democratic institutions to serve his personal and dictatorial interests, that is.
