P22 wage hike in focus

The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (Ecop) is slated to tackle the P22 a day wage hike approved by the National Capital Region (NCR) for private sector minimum wage earners in the metropolis. To be held on July 1 at the Ecop Board Room in Makati City, the symposium will give entrepreneurs, executives and human resource practitioners an extensive overview on the new wage order. It will tackle relevant issues on: provisions of the wage order and the mechanics of its implementation; implications of the new wage order on employment, cost of doing business, and its impact on SMEs; and controversies and intricacies of wage setting in the Philippines. Resource speakers are Ecop president Edgardo Lacson, Ecop director general Vicente Leogardo Jr., National Wages and Productivity Commission executive director Ciriaco Lagunzad and NCR Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board chairman Raymundo Agravante.
