Asiana best in OTP
05/31/2010 Asiana Airlines (OZ) has been cited for best on time performance (OTP) in a survey conducted by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (APAA). Asiana has ranked best in OTP for two consecutive years. AAPA is composed of 17 airlines that operate across the Asia Pacific. Members include Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Korean Air, Royal Brunei, ANA, Japan Airlines (JAL), Dragon Air, Air New Zealand and Qantas, to name a few. Of its members, 12 airlines regularly participate in the survey. Asiana posted a 92.5 percent rating in OTP based on the latest AAPA survey. EVA Air of Taiwan tied this year with the same rating. Statistics are gathered on the delay rates of airlines on a monthly and quarterly basis. AAPA collects and averages final results to rank the airline with the lowest delay rate. Asiana has operated 50,274 flights last year in which 46,508 flights have operated on time. In 2008, Asiana was also ranked at the top along with JAL, recording a 91.4 percent on time performance. Since its establishment in 1988, Asiana has made OTP one of its top priorities for quality passenger services.
