To the rescue
09/16/2009 A Pandacan Depots Services Inc. (PDSI) fire crew atop one of the depot’s fire pump towers assists firemen of the Bureau of Fire Protection put out a fire in Barangay 836 in Pandacan near the oil depot’s fence line. PDSI as part of its security and community relations measures has always been among the first to respond to similar situations in the past, specifically in 2001 and 2003. It also provided the necessary water supply to firemen and fire volunteers. The fire was put under control in a little over an hour. PDSI chief superintendent Boyet Sapuyot said the depot complies with international safety and security standards and is prepared for any situation as is required of all depots. "This is for the benefit of the depot and the adjacent communities as well," he said.
